Beauval

I got back from Spring Break a week early.
[side note- make sure you plan to be gone the ENTIRE break, because you don't have your room if you come back early]

During that week, Carol Delalande, Julien's wife, was kind enough to offer to take me with her when she took her daughters to the Beauval Zoo. The zoo is incredible. There were somewhere between 5 and 8 white tigers (three of which were young and had been born in the zoo- proof of the excellent conditions of the animals at the zoo), giraffes, rhinoceroses (a baby and two adults), orangutans (they also had a baby), chimpanzees (I think there were three babies), all kinds of reptiles, and loads of birds. Beauval used to be a bird sanctuary, so their birds are quite impressive. But they added the other animals, and did a wonderful job with their habitats, because an extremely high number of their animals have had babies while in captivity, which is quite rare.

The only problem with the zoo is that it's 21€ to enter. I would recommend, if you have the means, going two days. They sell two-day passes for 31.5o€, which is a much better option. The only discounts they give are for children from 3 to 10 years old, who only pay 15€ for a day.

The picture I've put in this post is from when the baby tigers were very young. They now look only slightly smaller than the rest of the tigers.
