Da Vinci

The Abbey Program offers great places to visit during the weekends whether it be the different Chateau's of the Loire Valley or a boat ride with your abbey friends. One of the recent trips we went to was to Da Vinci's house in Ambois. I really urge you to take advantage of these day trips the Program offers you see things you might not choose to see on your own and it helps open your eyes to new things. It was truly amazing to see where he lived and worked. His land surrounding his home had copies of his inventions in a larger scope for people visiting to see. Some of the things that stood out to me were the make-shift catapult used to carry water from the river surrounding his home. The large metal dome shaped object called the "Tank" and an object that resembled the Mouse Wheel.

The Wheel

After we walked around Da Vinci's home we walked around Ambois to meet for lunch by the river. These day trips are where some of my best memories come from. I hope that future Abbey Students will take advantage of these trips and have as much fun as I have had.
